With over 30 years of experience, Alicia Schult is an expert in the history of receipts, apothecaries, cosmetics, alchemy, and historical clothing. As the owner and founder of LBCC Historical Apothecary, she has dedicated her life to bringing to light lost and forgotten knowledge. Alicia’s passion lies in studying and reproducing historical cosmetic and apothecary recipes to add new understanding and knowledge to this field. She is currently working on debunking myths surrounding lead face paint.

Alicia’s qualifications include degrees in History, Broad-field Social Science, Anthropology, and Museum Methods. She’s also trained in historical draping, sewing, and patterning methods. She continues to work and collaborate with numerous museums and has also authored two books on making 18th-century stays and Victorian buttonholes, with future plans to write a compendium on historical cosmetics and the apothecary. Apart from her current work, Alicia taught at a 1-room 1904 schoolhouse and has been involved in living history for over 27 years. With her current Apothecary business, in addition to products, she offers classes and lectures on historical cosmetics, apothecary, and hairdressing. When Alicia is not researching, experimenting, or teaching, you can find her writing, traveling, and collecting old things.
